We appointed Change Logic in February 2010 to conduct an initial assessment of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Africa Risk business. Change Logic provided valuable feedback on our strategy, organisational structure, processes, systems and communications; they also provided us with initiatives to improve these. We decided to extend Change Logic's contract and added a second Change Logic resource to the project in May 2010 to implement and embed many of these initiatives, which included defining and embedding optimal processes, communications and resource mapping.

In October 2010, the CIB Global Risk Project Office was established and we consolidated our change management activities into this office. Currently Change Logic provides change management expertise, including process and system implementations, communication and support processes across all the projects and initiatives within the Project Office.

I have been impressed by the consistency and quality of the deliverables provided by Change Logic. Their input has enabled us to implement new processes more efficiently and with minimal disruptions to our business operations. They conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity and I would recommend them to any business that requires change management services.

Our 1st engagement with Change Logic was on the National Credit Act (NCA) Programme in 2007 where Change Logic provided the Change Management services for the programme.  This programme ran over an 18 month period and involved at least 25 related projects touching the entire retail business of the bank.  This was the 1st time that the bank executed an integrated programme across multiple business units under a single programme structure.  Change Logic provided a leadership & implementation role for the programme and was also considered to be part of the bank’s team as opposed to a service provider. The programme was a huge success for the bank considering the scope & complexity required to achieve compliance.  

Due to the success of the change management interventions on the NCA programme we engaged again with Change Logic on a strategic change programme for the retail business named CustomerConnect.   This programme had the objective of implementing a new operating model for the retail bank.  We used the same model to engage with Change Logic  on the CustomerConnect programme as we did on the NCA where Change Logic provided both thought-leadership and execution capability at the programme level.   Change Logic continue to provide these services to the programme albeit that I have personally changed roles within the bank.

My current intervention with Change Logic is on the African Core Banking Programme.  This programme has the objective of standardising the bank’s business in Africa by replacing business processes and systems with a standard operating model across the 17 countries that the bank operates in.   The programme has been executing over the last 12 months with the 1st 3  countries being implemented during this year.  Change Logic are providing communication and information management services to the core programme team.  

The 3 engagements with Change Logic have been very successful and I can personally recommend engaging with them on large and complex initiatives.

Absa engaged the services of Change Logic in December 2009, to assist in providing Change Management Services for the Absa Towers West Project and Programme.

The Absa Towers West Project and Programme in essence is building a new Head Office for Maria Ramos, her Executive Committee and 3500 Absa Employees who work within the Absa Campus in the Johannesburg CBD.

Due to the size and capital investment in the new Absa Head Office, there was obvious and significant risk in the form of business impacts and strategic key business drivers and dependencies, which Change Logic were brought in to manage.

I would highly recommend Change Logic as I have worked closely with the Team over the last 15 months and have found them to be delivery focused, professional and a highly motivated group of individuals who have a “can do” attitude and always prepared to go the extra mile.
